Current diagnosis and treatment
Varicose veins that we see on our legs and are often considered as a cosmetic problem with a wrong approach are actually symptoms of a circulatory disease.
What are varicose veins?
Venous insufficiency occurs when the valves in the veins that carry the dirty (unoxygenated/blue) blood in our legs to the lungs are disrupted and the blood escapes back. All the signs and symptoms that this problem creates in the leg are called varicose veins.
Diagnostic Methods
Since venous insufficiency is a vascular disease, the first examination should be performed by a cardiovascular surgeon. The patient should be informed about the path to be followed.
Treatment Methods
Since varicose veins are generally not a life-threatening disease, treatment may not be an urgent need in every patient. For this reason, different methods can be applied in the treatment of varicose veins.
